How Am I At Building Trust?

Take a survey to see where you are at in building trust in your congregation.

Assess how you see yourself in relating to friends, family and others on a heart level. Evaluate yourself on a scale of 1 to 5. 1= least describes me; 5= most describes me.

___ 1. I keep my word no matter what the cost.

___ 2. I encourage others to maintain their integrity, to do the right thing, when they are in difficult situations.

___ 3. I take risks in being appropriately HOT (Honest, Open, and Transparent) whenever possible.

___ 4. When appropriate I give honest feedback to others about how I perceive them.

___ 5. I only make promises when I am very sure I can fulfill them.

___ 6. I tend to trust others as appropriate, and they know it by my words and actions.

___ 7. When I believe confrontation is appropriate I faithfully and lovingly do so.

___ 8. I hold in strict confidence what is shared with me, unless I have permission to share it.

___ 9. Friends, colleagues and/or family members usually feel free to share personal joys and struggles with me.

___10. Before making decisions I discuss them fully with those who will be affected by them.

___11. I faithfully follow through on what I say I will do.

___12. When given a task I do the best I can, even if I don’t enjoy it.

___13. When I give others responsibility, I also give them the necessary authority.

___14. When things go wrong, I am quick to accept responsibility for my part, rather than trying to find someone else to blame.

___15. I do not criticize others behind their backs, and am very reluctant to listen to those who do.

___16. I listen to criticism from others without becoming defensive.

___17. If I write memos or letters about others I give them a copy and/or discuss the issues before sending them.

___18. I often ask others for feedback on how they perceive me, my work, leadership style, etc.
